14 Days Travel Program
Rwanda Tours 14 Days with in Rwanda, 16 with in Uganda and 4 in Rwanda
Day 1. Kigali
Arrive at Kigali Airport. Meet and great with your guide and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2. Kigali – Akagera National Park
After breakfast we drive to Akagera National Park. On our way we enjoy the beautiful landscape and rural way of life of the local people.
Day 3. Akagera National Park
Game drive in the morning in Akagera National Park. Boat trip and game drive in the afternoon.
Akagera National Park is Rwanda’s only Savannah national park. The scenery is beautiful and expect to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. With a little luck lions and leopards are possible.
Day 4. Akagera National Park – Kigali
Game drive in the morning. Picnic lunch at the top of Mount Mutumba (1.825m) with stunning panoramic views of the park. Transfer to Kigali afterwards.
Day 5. Kigali – Butare – Nyungwe Forest
Transfer to Butare (Huye) where it is possible to visit the National Museum and Nyanza Hill (optional activities). Afterwards transfer to Nyungwe Forest.
Day 6. Nyungwe Forest
Early morning Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest. Optional walk to the waterfall or visit to the Angolan Black Colobus monkeys (both activities optional).
Nyungwe Forest is East Africa’s largest forest, with 13 monkey species, including chimpanzees, Angolan Black Colobus, Mona Monkey and Owl Faced Monkeys.
Day 7. Nyungwe Forest
Go for a nature walk or bird watching, make the primate walk, make the canopy walk or do the waterfall trail (one activity included).
Day 8. Nyungwe – Kibuye (Lake Kivu)
We drive to the Bugarama Hot Springs (the largest and biggest natural spring in Rwanda) via Cyamudongo Natural Forest. It is possible to take a warm bath in the hot springs (optional). Afterwards we drive to River Rusizi for a boat trip with lunch and drinks. Drive to Kibuye town.
Day 9. Kibuye – Gisenyi (Lake Kivu)
Relax at the lodge or at the shores of scenic Lake Kivu. It is also possible to make a walk along the lake’s shores. Afterwards drive to Gisenyi.
Day 10. Gisenyi – Volcanoes National Park
Relax at the beach in the morning, go for a nature walk along the shore or visit Bugarama hot springs. In the afternoon we drive to the Volcanoes National Park.
Volcanoes National Park is a unique jungle, with many monkey species, including the endemic Golden Monkeys. Volcanoes National Park is part of the Virunga Mountains, covering Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, and one of the two places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!
Day 11. Volcanoes National Park
Gorilla tracking!!! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animals, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget.
Nature walk through the beautiful environment in the afternoon (optional).
Day 12. Volcanoes National Park – Lake Ruhondo
Optional activities for today (one activity included): make a nature walk in the national park, visit the golden monkeys, climb one of the volcanoes, or visit Diane Fossey’s grave.
It is also possible to make another gorilla tracking.
Afterwards we drive to Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera; the Twin Lakes.
Day 13. Lake Ruhondo – Kigali
We drive around the lakes and visit the Musangabo viewing point. Optional nature walk around the lakes. Afterwards we drive to Kigali. It is also possible to visit the local people or the pygmies (optional).
Day 14. Kigali
After breakfast drive to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight. City tour with possible visit of the Genocide Memorial if time allows (optional activity).
15 Days Travel program
Day 1. Entebbe – Kampala
Arrival at Entebbe airport. Your guide will be there waiting for you. Pick up and proceed to your accommodation.
Day 2. Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. In Murchison Falls we visit the top of the falls if time allows. On our way we visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see the white Rhino.
Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful national parks of Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.
Day 3. Murchison Falls National Park
Early morning game drive in this beautiful national park. Afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls. The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species.
Day 4. Murchison Falls National Park – Hoima
Early morning game drive or boat trip on the Nile to the delta into Lake Albert or visit Budongo Forest for a jungle walk. In the afternoon we drive to Hoima town.
Day 5. Hoima – Kibale Forest
After breakfast we drive to Kibale Forest. You can make a walk around the lodge in the afternoon. During this walk it is possible to see monkeys and birds. It is also possible to make a night walk through the forest to see the animals of the night, like bush babies (both activities optional).
Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species! Including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey.
Day 6. Kibale Forest
Chimpanzee tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. For people interested in primates and birds and willing to make another walk we can make a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes.
Day 7. Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we pass the equator where we will make a stop. Game drive in the afternoon.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Expect to see elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.
Day 8. Queen Elizabeth National Park
Game drive in the morning. Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.
The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos in the world.
Day 9. Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha
After breakfast we drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Ishasha sector in the South. Game drive in the afternoon in search of the tree climbing lions.
In Ishasha there are 4 prides of lions that climb the trees. Unique in the world! The other attraction of Ishasha are the Topis, not found anywhere else in this National Park.
Day 10. Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable
Today we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through interesting villages and have some breath taking views of the mountains.
Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!
(Driving time depends on the area in Bwindi we stay)
Day 11. Bwindi Impenetrable
Gorilla tracking!!! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animal, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget.
Day 12. Bwindi Impenetrable – Lake Bunyonyi
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi; the deepest and most beautiful lake in Uganda. We sleep on one of the beautiful islands. Possible activities: make a nature walk, go for a birding walk, go for canoeing, take a swim or visit the local community (all activities optional)
Day 13. Lake Bunyonyi – Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)
Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. It is possible to visit a pygmy village on the way (optional).
Volcanoes National Park is part of the Virunga Mountains, covering 3 countries: Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Together with Bwindi this is the only place in the world to see the Mountain Gorilla’s.
Day 14. Volcanoes National Park
Optional activities for today: Do a second gorilla tracking (must be booked in advance to be sure), visit the golden monkeys, make a nature walk in the national park, climb a volcano, visit Dian Fossey’s Grave, or visit the Twin Lakes, Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera (all activities optional).
Day 15. Volcanoes National Park – Kigali
Transfer to Kigali. Make a city tour or go for shopping if time permits. Afterwards transfer to Kigali airport for your departure.

Visit one of the crater lakes. Afterwards transfer to Semuliki National Park. Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs in the afternoon.
Semuliki is a unique place and the only lowland jungle in East Africa, part of the Congo eco system.
Day 8. Semuliki National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we pass the equator where we will make a stop. Game drive in the afternoon.

Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. It is possible to visit a pygmy village on the way (optional).

Day 17. Volcanoes National Park – Kibuye
Transfer to Kibuye by the shores of Lake Kivu. Relax at the shores of this beautiful lake. It is possible to make a walk along the lake or visit a vising village or make an optional boat trip on the lake.
Day 18. Kibuye – Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast we drive to Nyungwe Forest. Optional walk around the lodge to see monkeys and birds.
Nyungwe is one of East Africa’s largest forests. It is home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees. Other attractive monkeys to see: Angolan Black Colobus, Mona Monkey, Blue Monkey, L’Hoest Monkey and Owl Faced Monkey.
Day 19. Nyungwe Forest
Go for Chimpanzee tracking in the morning! See them feeding, walking around and swinging the trees. The chimpanzees are our closest relatives! During this walk you are also able to see other monkey species and birds. Optional visit of a tea factory in the afternoon.
Day 20. Nyungwe Forest
Today you can make the beautiful waterfall walk, search for monkeys (especially Angolan Black Colobus and Mona Monkey or do the canopy walk (all activities optional).
Day 21. Nyungwe Forest – Kigali
After breakfast transfer to Kigali Airport for your departure. City tour through Kigali if time allows.

For people interested in primates and birds and willing to make another walk, we can make a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes.

Day 9. Bwindi Impenetrable – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Game drive or boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. It is possible to do a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.
Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.
Day 10. Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe
Game drive or game walk in the morning. On our way back we can make a stopover at the Equator for photos. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
